Stephanie Stephens DMD
Dr. Stephanie Berg Stephens is an ivy league educated dentist, earning her prestigious degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Graduating in 2012, she embarked on a journey of dental excellence that led her to Brownstown Dental, where she eagerly joins her friend Dr. Lance Miller. With over a decade of experience as both an associate dentist and dental practice owner, Dr. Stephens brings a wealth of expertise to Brownstown Dental.
Stephanie's ties to Lancaster, Pennsylvania began during her general practice dental residency at Lancaster General Hospital/Penn Medicine in 2012 to 2013. This residency taught her the value of individualized, comprehensive dental care and how to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team of dental and medical professionals to treat oral health as an integral part of whole body health.
Before her dental pursuits, Stephanie is an accomplished athlete, competing as a member of the women's varsity crew team at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2008 with a degree in biology and anthropology. While at Rutgers, her exemplary academic achievements earned her membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Big East Conference Academic All Star Team, and the National College Athletes Honor Society. She was also named a scholar athlete by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. Her dedication to athletics dates to her high school years at Pitman High School in Pitman, New Jersey, where she was a standout member of the swim team.
Stephanie's commitment to dental education extends beyond private clinical practice. She shares her expertise with future dental practitioners as adjunct clinical faculty in the dental hygiene and EFDA programs at Harrisburg Area Community College. Additionally, she is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, where she has earned fellowship status. She is honored to serve as the current president of the Lancaster County Dental Society.
Her focus on preventative dentistry and patient education is evident in her approach to patient relationships. Stephanie believes in empowering patients to make informed decisions about their oral health, fostering a partnership in dental care. Through her extensive studies with the Dawson Academy, she continuously enhances her skills to provide high quality, individualized, and comprehensive care to her patients.
Dr. Stephens enjoys a busy life in Lancaster city with her husband Michael, sons Duane & Caleb, and dogs Odin & Lilo. The family enjoys making memories together visiting family and friends throughout the country. While currently juggling the joys of motherhood and her dental career, Dr. Stephens eagerly awaits the opportunity to indulge in her hobbies of yoga, pilates, knitting, and reading once her schedule allows.
Lance S. Miller DMD
A native of Newville, PA, Dr. Lance S. Miller attended Big Spring High School where he was a three sport athlete in soccer, swimming, and baseball. Dr. Miller also achieved the Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts of America. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, fly tying and spending time with his wife Mandi and his son Owen.
Dr. Miller earned his B.S. in biology from Millersville University where he also played on the Marauder baseball team.
He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University's Dental school where he was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Dr. Miller is the third generation to attend Temple's Dental school, following his father and grandfather in the field of dentistry.
Dr. Miller completed a general practice residency at the VA Hospital of Pittsburgh, receiving advanced training in oral surgery, implant placement and restorations, endodontics, and fixed and removable prosthodontics. Dr. Miller takes pride in providing the latest and most advanced treatment to his patients. He looks forward to working with staff, and providing individual and personal care to the patients at Brownstown Dental.
